ADRIANA

Images from FFW Models

Putting aside the fact that she's a Victoria's Secret angel and has probably never taken a bad photograph, Adriana Lima can clearly do editorial as well as out-and-out sexy. I am always curious to see what the angels look like without hair extensions, body glitter and jaw-achingly wide smiles. Turns out she still looks pretty great. Her good looks aside, I am obsessed with all white at the moment, yet fear looking like a tennis player or the Beckhams circa 2003. Thankfully, Interview magazine shows us how to avoid that.

COORDINATES

Bomber Jacket - Topman, Crop Top - Topshop, Skirt - H&M, Clutch - Juno

I have been loving all of the coordinates which have been appearing lately as a huge trend for S/S. All of the ones I'd seen were patterned and colorful, and as someone who favours the plainer things in life, I wasn't feeling anything too garish. So I made my own! Well I say made...I found some very basic separates from Topshop and H&M and whacked them together. Add a clutch and a bomber and you're done. When I'm feeling a little more exciting perhaps I'll invest in something a bit brighter. But for now, I'm pretty content with this.

MAXED OUT

Blazer - ASOS, Tank - Cheap Monday, Jeans - Topshop, Sneakers - Nike Air Max 90

Literally can't go wrong with my trusty Air Max, even though they look enormous compared to my scrawny ankles. And don't think I need to remind anyone how much I love black...Happy Thursday everyone!

SHOE STORY

All shoes by New Look

When I was putting this post together I was totally oblivious to the fact that all of these shoes are from New Look, so as a disclaimer, I don't work for them! Aside from my regular sneakers, these are my go-to shoes at the moment. I'm picky about daytime footwear, in that I have little patience with anything that I a) can't walk in and b) can't spend an entire day dashing around without blisters. And where comfort wins, price often doesn't. However all of the above were under £30, so I guess well done New Look!

WISHLIST #2

WISHLIST #2

Monki blazer, $90 / Monki pants, $35 / New Balance yellow canvas shoes / Topshop slide sandals

Just a few of my wants/needs for spring. It's been great to shed a couple of  layers/lose the umbrella, but I have seemingly nothing to bridge the gap between winter and summer. Which is where this Monki blazer comes in...

PURCHASES

Shoes - New Look, Shorts - H&M

I've been pretty happy with my bargain hunting skills recently. Snapped up these shorts for £12.99 and the shoes for £11.99 - success. Fashion which means I still have enough money to go food shopping is where it's at.

TOMBOY

Bomber Jacket - Topman, Tank top - Superdry, Mom jeans - Topshop, Back Pack - New Look, Sandals - New Look

This Topman bomber is so much better than any womenswear equivalent I've found. I pinched it from my brother and pretended I'd bought it myself, so it had the added bonus of being free. These mom jeans have been in my life for a year and have adapted amazingly well to all seasons and occasions, so 10/10 for those too.

I've finally had a chance to rake through some of the less mainstream collections from the AW14 shows, and Jacquemus caught my eye immediately. In an effort to remove any sense of hierarchy or superiority from his show, Simon Porte presented his fun, fresh collection for Jacquemus to a sea of essentially hospital gown-clad fashionistas, which were handed out prior to entering. This in itself was a winning factor for me, but the clothes themselves are pretty great too. Boyish, oversized shapes, with splashes of random colour and the occasional circle pattern, completed with Adidas Superstars, made for a refreshingly light hearted collection. Definite inspiration for AW14 there.

Dress - River Island, Shoes - New Look

Having seen the first few signs of spring arrive, I might have got a bit excited and invested in (translation: seriously overspent on) a couple of things. This basketball dress being one of them. It's the nicest I've found on the high street and it's easy to dress up or down, winning my seal of approval. Just need it to actually get a bit warmer so I can wear it more...

Apologies for the slight break away from the blog. I came down with the dreaded winter flu, despite the fact that it seemingly coincided with the first signs of spring. Anyway, I'm back and will leave you this evening with some images I found whilst propped up in bed with some Lemsip...

SCUBA

 Top - Missguided, Skirt - H&M

I'm totally obsessed with scuba everything right now, and this little cropped number is among my favourites. The fabric is super light and sits perfectly every time I put it on - it's a seriously well-behaved piece of clothing. I actually brought it a size up for that added over-sized appeal. Plus it balances out my teeny tiny skirt...

Such gorgeous images from Issue 9 of The Gentlewoman. Whilst coats/ponchos/shirts and swimwear don't initially spring to mind as a natural pairing, the combination of silhouettes merges surprisingly well, as well as diluting the somewhat daunting prospect of baring all in a swimsuit after months of hiding under clothes. In love with the final bodysuit...
