Images from Vogue

As soon as I saw these images in this month's Vogue, I made a mental note to do a post on them. I don't know whether it's the gorgeous images, the simple but cool ensembles or the models amazing hair (I would totally bleach my hair white if I didn't think it would make me look albino), but something here is working in a big way. Interestingly, the clothes are all by F & F, formerly Florence and Fred. And if the name's ringing bells it's because it's the Tesco clothing brand, aka the department you accidentally stumbled into while trying to find the wine section. Needless to say, they've undergone something of a transformation. Supermarket clothes never looked so good.

TOMBOY

Bomber Jacket - Topman, Tank top - Superdry, Mom jeans - Topshop, Back Pack - New Look, Sandals - New Look

This Topman bomber is so much better than any womenswear equivalent I've found. I pinched it from my brother and pretended I'd bought it myself, so it had the added bonus of being free. These mom jeans have been in my life for a year and have adapted amazingly well to all seasons and occasions, so 10/10 for those too.

Apologies for the slight break away from the blog. I came down with the dreaded winter flu, despite the fact that it seemingly coincided with the first signs of spring. Anyway, I'm back and will leave you this evening with some images I found whilst propped up in bed with some Lemsip...

SCUBA

 Top - Missguided, Skirt - H&M

I'm totally obsessed with scuba everything right now, and this little cropped number is among my favourites. The fabric is super light and sits perfectly every time I put it on - it's a seriously well-behaved piece of clothing. I actually brought it a size up for that added over-sized appeal. Plus it balances out my teeny tiny skirt...

SIMPLICITY

Top - ASOS, Trousers - Primark, Jacket - Topshop,

I'm obsessed with monochrome right now (my polyvore is a pretty clear indication of that) and am wearing it an alarming amount. I'm in love with this top, even though it gets stuck on my head every freaking time I take it on and off - neoprene does not like to stretch. Also thank you to whoever invented the smart jogger. I'm just waiting for the smart onesie and slippers to be invented now.

Hope you're all having a chilled Sunday!

SIMPLICITY NAILED

Images  sourced from tumblr and pinterest

I  really struggle with what to do with my nails. As you might be able to tell, I am in no way girly or frivolous style-wise, yet when I trawl through tumblr and pinterest for inspiration, I get lost in a sea of shouty designs, nail stickers and glitter. And whilst I appreciate the effort gone into the designs, it ain't me. I feel overdressed with anything other than simple block colour on my nails, but equally would like to experiment, even in some tiny way. Which is probably why I fell in love with these designs. Simple and modern, they are kind of like the anti-manicure and I love them. Any more ideas are totally welcome.

Sporty editorials seem to be everywhere at the moment, and I'm not complaining. I fell in love with this one the second I saw the fantastically ugly/amazing combination of sport socks and platform sandals.  Definitely going to use that styling tip myself. The Nike arm sleeves and socks are a great use of actual sportswear and give the shoot a little touch of authenticity missing in other editorials of it's genre. Well done Flair.

TEASER

White Top - Missguided, Turtleneck (just seen) - Primark, Skirt - H & M, Necklace - Primark

Here is a little photo reel from shooting my first outfit post. Actual images will be up over the next few days, watch this space...

LATE NIGHT INSPIRATION

Images from tumblr

I've had a busy couple of days and as a result, very little time for blogging, but tomorrow I will be back on form. In the mean time, here are just a few of the images inspiring me from my tumblr. Have a real thing for well-timed colour at the moment, and it's serving as inspiration for the outfit posts I'm in the process of photographing...watch this space.

COME AS YOU ARE FOR MIXT(E)

I don't think I'm alone in saying that I cannot wait for Spring. I'm kind of sick of worrying about how many layers I'm wearing and accessorising everything with a mandatory scarf/glove/umbrella combination. In terms of fashion, however, I find that far too often people equate spring and summer with garish colour and an excess of florals. Which is 100% not me. So it's always nice to see an editorial like this one for Mixt(e) magazine's Spring/Summer issue. Kristen Owen's messy hair contrasted against the clean white lines screams effortless chic. I fear by the end of the summer Alexander Wang's 'Parental Advisory' slogan will be somewhat overused, having already seen a whole host of high street copycat versions. But here I'll let it slide.

TUMBLING

All images from Tumblr
Tumblr is my vice and go-to for procrastination. I waste away hours image hunting, hours which should be doing my dissertation. If any of you guys are hung up on monochrome and clean lines, with only the tiniest hint of colour, then come join me here.
